Σαν σήμερα 2 μεγάλα metal συγκροτήματα κυκλοφόρησαν την ίδια μέρα του ίδιου έτους (1980) 2 εκπληκτικούς δίσκους... Ο ένας είναι το British Steel των Judas Priest και ο άλλος το ομώνυμο των Iron Maiden...ΟΚ... Για τους Maiden δεν μπορώ να είμαι αντικειμενικός για την δεκαετία του '80...
Έχουν επηρεάσει κόσμο και κοσμάκι...
Έκαναν δικιά τους κατηγορία στην μουσική...Κάποια στιγμή δεν έλεγες ακούω metal, αλλά metal και Iron Maiden...
Ο δίσκος δεν είναι απο αυτόν που θα μπορούσε να πει κανείς ότι είναι αντιπροσωπευτικός ως προς τον ήχο, αλλά η δομή και η δύναμη είναι χαρακτηριστικά στον πρώτο τους κιόλας άλμπουμ...
Έχει χαρακτηριστεί ως ένα απο τα 1001 άλμπουμ που πρέπει να ακούσεις πριν πεθάνεις! (έχουν και το Number Of The Beast στην ίδια κατηγορία)
Υπάρχουν ακόμα κάποιοι που προτιμούν τον DiAnno στα φωνητικά απο τον Bruce Dickinson...οκ ο καθένας έχει και μια άποψη... αλλά ας ακούσουν τις live εκτελέσεις του Bruce σε τραγούδια του Paul και μετά ας πούνε ότι ακόμα έχουν την ίδια άποψη...

Για του μη-μυημένους προτείνω το Remember Tomorrow -που κάποια στιγμή το έπαιζε και ο Αλκίνοος Ιωαννίδης στις συναυλίες του- και το Strange World
